We had a great St. Patricks Day and Kate was all dolled up in her Irish fashion. I think the bow was bigger than her head (ha ha).
Following a pretty low-key week, we had a crazy weekend of unhappiness around the house. Some of it was even brought on by us (timing wasn't that great). I mean, how many things could we cram into ONE weekend????? Lets count.
1. Kate is 5 months old so we decided to start letting her 'cry it out' at night and during naps. Tim and I got used to hearing her cry at night and almost was able to completely tune it out. She ended up crying for 45 minutes... sleeping 30.... crying for 45 minutes.... sleeping 30. It was tough.
2. We also decided to stop swaddling Kate at night. I started to worry about her rolling over and not having her hands free to be able to push away from the crib, etc. She seemed to sleep for 4 hours with peace but then would wake up and start the crying (see #1)
3. On Saturday - Kate got a fever. Poor thing had 102 and just wasn't herself. Was it just the tooth??? or something more???? The fever made Kate pretty cranky for the remainder of the weekend. Our 'easy' baby was all of the sudden very VERY unhappy.
I took time off on Monday to take Kate to the doctor and TA-DA.... she has an ear infection. Poor little one. So on top of not feeling well, we took her comfort swaddle away and made her cry (a lot). What a tough girl!
Other than that, we spent the weekend catching up on tv shows and watching basketball. It was nice to be able to sit back and relax.
Here is a pic of Kate in her new favorite toy - the Jumparoo!!! It is so fun to see her bounce around in it.

We'll have lots of fun updates next week because we are taking Kate on her first plane ride this weekend! Off to Texas we go (what a great state :) We love you all!

HI there.. what a gorgeous little girl you have there! Saw your comment on the non-swaddling not going that well... you could always try a Peke Moe sleep sack? http://www.pekemoe.co.nz
