It doesn't get any better than this

Kisses from Daddy are funny :)

I know it's been a long time since I've blogged and there is so much to catch up on... so let's get started. I spent my first two nights away from Kate two weeks ago when I went on a work trip. My visit to Monroe, LA was wonderful and I really enjoyed the atmosphere (that southern hospitality that I miss) and the food (crawfish like you wouldn't believe). Even though the trip was great, I missed my family and decided that traveling for work was not in the cards for me right now. I know that limits my possibilities with the new company, but it is something that I feel very strong about. Kate needs to have one parent on the ground and available at all times. Right now, Tim's work is away from home and we don't need to compliate things with potential travel for me. It's kindof weird going from extremely flexible (and that do whatever it takes to get the job done) to having limits, but I have different priorities now. It's amazing how we grow up so fast :)

To make the decision not to travel a little easier, my return trip was riddled with bad luck (weather delays and a dead battery upon return 7 hours late). On top of all that - Tim had food poisoning while he as home with Kate by himself! Talk about bad luck all the way around. Luckily, Tim feels better ---- I'm home with my family ---- and Kate is just as happy as ever. Life is good.

Tim and I took a day off of work last Friday to make our holiday weekend even longer (yay!). We played golf and had such a wonderful time being together and being outside. What a gorgeous day. That night, we had a BBQ over at our friends Josh & Kristen and got to hang out with Andy & Holly too. It was so much fun and the babies got to play (aka - look at each other).

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend - grilling and playing in the grass. Here are a couple of pics documenting our weekend.

Feet are YUMMY! (and our favorite activity these days)

Overall, it was an amazing weekend and we spent great quality time together. These are the types of weekends that I'll always cherish.

Now for some Kater-tot updates :) Kate loves to sing. She has found her voice and is quite good at using it. She actually sang to all the shoppers in Banana Republic on Saturday when I was trying on clothes. It was so funny and she received lots of smiles when we left the dressing room.

Kate also loves her feet. As you can see from the pictures - she gets them in her mouth every chance she gets. She also loves bath time. In fact, she loves it so much, it's become part of our nightly routine. She splashes and giggles and kicks and splashes some more. We are going to post a video soon.

Kate is eating all of her veggies and has moved on to her fruits. Bananas were a big winner here. She eats the whole container of them! We've had to add squash to peas and applesauce to green beans. At least she's getting them down.

She is also sitting up so well and is SO CLOSE to crawling. She scoots backwards and will sometimes get stuck under an ottoman or table - silly girl. At daycare, they said she is trying to pull herself up on the activity center - seriously???? Can she grow any faster? You're only 7 months kiddo... slow down :)

It's getting late so we'll close this for now, but there is still much more to catch up on including a visit from Cousin Holly from Texas AND the funny 'Kate is teething' story from daycare. Hopefully I'll get that posted tomorrow. Good night and sleep tight!
